Liverpool star told he is becoming a problem for Jurgen Klopp's side ahead of 'must-win' game

The Liverpool star is not at his best.

One Liverpool star has been told he is becoming a bit of an issue ahead of a ‘must-win’ game for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Liverpool appear to be experiencing a blip in form at perhaps the worst possible time.

After dropping points in the Premier League title race with a 2-2 draw against Manchester United last weekend, Liverpool suffered a shock 3-0 defeat at home to Atalanta in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League quarter-final.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were thoroughly outplayed by their Italian opponents, although there were defensive question-marks over all three goals.

Liverpool did create chances to get back into the game but failed to take any of them.

Klopp made six changes to the side that drew at Old Trafford on Sunday, including dropping Mohamed Salah to the bench.

In hindsight it looks like a poor decision, although even when he came off the bench the Egyptian attacker failed to make much of an impact.

Salah hasn’t been in great form recently, something that could be an issue for Liverpool ahead of a Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Looking ahead to the match at Anfield, former Premier League star Chris Sutton said Salah must rediscover his magic touch.

“One issue for Jurgen Klopp’s side is that Mohamed Salah has not been at his sharpest since he has come back from injury – he has been missing chances that you expect him to put away,” Sutton told BBC Sport.

“This is a must-win for Liverpool following their slip-up at Old Trafford. They have got some tricky games in their run-in but I don’t see this being one of them.”

Anything but a win against Palace could hand Arsenal and Manchester City the upper hand in the title race.

Liverpool and Arsenal are currently tied at the top with 71 points – although the Gunners are ahead of goal-difference – while City are one point behind in third.
