Max Holloway says BMF belt now stands for something completely different after stunning Justin Gaethje KO

Max Holloway beat Justin Gaethje at UFC 300.

UFC fighter Max Holloway has insisted ‘BMF’ UFC title stands for something completely different now after his stunning victory over Justin Gaethje.

The 32-year-old fighter produced a stunning last-second KO at UFC 300 in Nevada to become lightweight champion in the process.

With just one second left on the clock in Round 5, Holloway sent Gaethje to the ground with a devastating right hand that forced the referee to end the bout.

Speaking after his victory, the Hawaiian-born fighter could not hold back his emotions after a roller coaster bout inside the Octagon.

“This is the moment, this is what BMF stands for,” began Holloway during his post-match media duties.

“The Baddest Mother******, I wanna change that to Blessed Man Forever, that’s how I feel when I hold it.

“If that’s not a BMF moment then I don’t know what is. If the cards were split and Justin was up, if he felt like he was up I knew he would give me that ten second shot.

“He is a badman and I don’t know if I ever wanna share the Octagon with him again. He’s a bad man!

“He is a legend and these are the kind of things you do to etch yourself into the history books.”

With Joe Rogan himself stating it was ‘one of the most special performances he has ever seen’ plaudits have continued to pile in for Holloway.

Expected to take some time away to reassess his options, the once unified featherweight champion is likely to return to remain at the middleweight bracket.

But the winner was keen to share some of his spotlight after the stunning spectacle viewed by millions, praising his opponent for the battle.

“Give it up for Gaethje, a real BMF,” added Holloway just moments after his KO success.

“He had nothing to gain and everything to lose. I am him guys. El Matador is running away from the bull at 145.

“Even Islam [Makhachev]. I’m here, I’m right here! Any weight, I am a gladiator, let’s get it! I want 600k, that was fight of the night and finish of the night.”
