Five-star Ohio State commit Devin Sanchez talks decision to shut down recrutiment

Devin Sanchez answered any questions that might have been out there about his commitment status with a simple post on social media. “The recruitment is finally closed. I won’t be taking any other visits.” The post featured a picture of Sanchez with Ohio State assistant Tim Walton and put a stop to any possible rumors about Sanchez looking at other programs. The five-star cornerback from Galena Park (Texas) North Shore committed to Ohio State in January.

At 6-foot-2, 170 pounds, Sanchez is ranked as the No. 1 cornerback in the country and No. 1 overall prospect in Texas, according to 247Sports. Sanchez is a centerpiece for an Ohio State class that currently ranks No. 1 in the country. Despite his commitment, other programs continued to pursue him and work to get him on campus.

Sanchez didn’t need to say it for it to be official, but he decided to re-affirm his commitment after visiting Columbus last weekend for the Ohio State spring game. Sanchez told 247Sports that he spoke with his family and the Ohio State coaches, and he wanted to make it known he was all in.
